What winter club do you support?

What summer club do you support?

The district chairs are generally elected by and from the club district reps so in most, if not all, cases the chair will be affiliated with one club or another. This in and of itself is not a conflict of interest, unless the Chair has veto power or can unilaterally make decisions without a vote.

It seems Metro wants even numbers of either 14 or 16 teams . One of the reasons for turning down applications should be if clubs with 2 teams entered where both struggled or one of them struggled . This is the case in many age groups.

Metro have had their meeting and spots should be posted on their website

Any news on Metro spots ??? - Meeting was supposed to be last week unless it was cancelled

I'm not in loop as far as approval for Metro teams being approved but my guess is the meeting went ahead. The Metro website still seems to be listing last seasons info at this point.
My sons team played in the Delta Metro invitational (U13) tournament this past weekend. The teams entered were:

CCB,NVFC,Richmond,Port Moody and DCS. I know Burnaby,Vancouver,Coquitlam and West Van have teams too.

Last seasons schedule at U13 shows 7 MSL teams in the A division and 8 teams in the B division for total of 15. I don't think having an odd number of teams with 'bye' in the werkly schedule is the most preferred way to go though.

Each District approves teams first, then Metro Select league has to approve the district submissions. I know there have been some issues at district levels. For example BC tigers wants a Metro team but I doubt SMSA would have approve it.
Langley united from what I understand was denied by Fraser Valley youth for political reasons ( they want LUSA to partner with Fraser Valley for BCSPL to keep players in district , currently LUSA partners with Surrey United and thus lose players to out of district.) There has been similar issues with Burnaby Selects and Westburn.
For U13 from the Surrey / Delta / Langley East area I would expect the following:

Delta Coastal Selects (Coastal FC, North Delta, Ladner, Twassasen)
Surrey Guildford United ( GAC and Surrey United)
CCB
SFC
Fraser Valley Selects ( LFC, Aldergrove, Abbotsford Magnason Ford , Chilliwack)
Langley United ???

Seems so much politics over Metro spots , they should just scrap it and mix it into Divisional play . Metro & the top Div 1 teams are same level

Any explanation why? Did the team struggle a lot in u17? Otherwise, seems odd since every district is supposed to have an MSL team I believe....

note: Abby has changed name back to its original Abbotsford Soccer Association.

Re: Fraser Valley. I am not involved at the district level (I prefer to just coach within my own community) but have been around soccer in that district for a very long time. It is crucial for soccer in this district to be collaborative. LUYSA partnering with FV Selects to run the MSL program is in everyone's best interests. But, I truly hope they do! LUYSA can partner with any BCSPL program they wish - and partnering with Surrey United did make sense when the BCSPL spot was located in Abby and then in Abby-Chilliwack. But now that it's based in Langley, it is reasonable to expect, request, hope that LUYSA would be a good district partner and support the top tier. But, cancelling the MSL spot for LUYSA doesn't mean they will then agree to be a supporting club to FVP. Even so, LUYSA players are free to tryout for whatever BCSPL club they like!

We were only told that they want to keep each group at 14. Although this past season most groups had more than that...
