Why are they training all week if they aren't playing games? surely they are training because they are a registered team in a league, which means they have a games schedule.

???
Its a U16 team of 15/16 players and they were either supposed to play U16 Metro or Div1 but are not in any group - hopefully they get placed soon even if it means creating a bye in Metro or U16 Div 1 . The boys need to play.

My understainding is the original CCB u16 Metro team, now at SFC, was reinstated because they had the proper number of returning Metro players which is why they were given the spot. From what I heard from Menta, CCB expected the players to leave his team when they dismissed him, thus allowing the new CCB team to take its place. This did not happen, which is why his team has retained the spot.

What is the content of this team that is practicing? If they also have an uneven balance, they may not get placed anywhere. Div 1 can only have a certain amount of players who played metro in the previous year, and a Metro team must have a ceratin number of Metro players from the previous year to be permitted to play.

In the end, this team may have nowhere to play unless they split up.

Full Metro teams moved from SFC to CCB and vice versa before the start of this season - if there were rules stating a team must have a minimum amount of players from last seasons club / team , they were obviously ignored/bypassed. I believe this team played Div 1 last season and challenged the Metro teams in the Cup where they reached the final.

Metro spots are reallocated all the time. Sometimes they are even shared between clubs. This has nothing to do with the returning player quota.

CCB made a big mistake in the way they treated Menta, the longtime coach of the u16 Metro team. They force him to move, it was not the other way around. He his an honest and good man.

This situation with these kids sitting is another example of a coach gambling on a promise and losing. They tried to hijack a spot that belonged to another Metro team (selected, registered, and paid for) and it didnt work out. Now they must deal with the consequences.

I say blame the Club and the coach for the obvious risk that didnt pay off.

Menta is a good guy and his team is playing after a delay. This other team also needs to play as its so unfair on these boys.
They have to be added to the schedule in U16 Metro or Div 1

LFC/WTF you seem to know quite a bit about CCB and SFC. Could you please clarify if the team that is currently not playing, the same team that held SGU hostage and walked of the field in the provincial finals at U13 because SGU would not give them metro. At U14 they transferred to SFC and played Div 1 , At U15 SFC held tryouts for metro and again not all players made the cut so they decided to go to CCB and play U15 Div 1. Please clarify.

They may not have a choice on a team basis, but there is nothing saying they cant put the kids on other teams to get them going. If they were Div 1 last year, then I dont see why they didnt get them in at/before tiering on Oct 21. Probaly more appeals going on, which is delaying things.

@John

Please change the direction and tone of your posts... it's disrupting what so far has been a good thread.

Thx.

I honestly cannot see either league adding a team at this point in the season. It's just not going to happen, two months in. Maybe they should place individual boys on other teams that have space before the December deadline, in order to get them playing games.

Not sure why you are laughing. It is generally accepted practice that playing 1 year up, 1 division down is a competitive scenario. Albeit not so common in league.

D2 is two divisions down from Metro. We'll see how it works out!

My understanding is they were a gold team hoping to become metro with some of last years metro players which didn't happen. Regardless they are playing a top div 2 team tomorrow so well see how well they do

I think there will be a lot of missing scores this week due to cancellations (flooded fields).

- Looks like they were re-scheduled to play at CAP3 last night (6pm). Score may trickle in yet.

Brilliant news and i,m sure the players will be raring to go . Its a drop down in level and if they get the opportunity to play their missed games, they will be challenging for the top spot in Div 2.
