Those are the winners? But who did they play and what were the scores?

From those results, some are quite competitive, others are alarming really. 5-1, 4-0 & 6-0 for a final, at this level?

Mountain United looks to have a strong program, just looking at the entrants in the finals.

I don't think you should judge based on a final score Exclusively . These teams beat some good opposition to reach the finals. Some of the winners lost to the runners up and others over the course of the season. Some teams rise to the occassion and others just have a bad day. You'd have to check out the regular season standings and results to get the full picture.

To me it shows a little more parody than in the past. Not one club dominating most divisions.

    What makes them "exceptional"?

Mountain has had a strong program since the last few years of SYL. They have had a strong roster of coaches, and a strong player pool to access.

Blow outs happen - especially when kids are trying to "play" and go down a goal or two and want to come back so they throw numbers forward. And, with open boundaries, it's very possible one team could collect most of the "best" (or attract players cut from Whitecaps who mostly come from GVRD). This happened when I was growing-up when one team was able to collect a significant number of the best players based on where they lived and having an attractive coach - this also happened when I was growing-up when my coach put together a tournament team during the summer in the USA (thus no boundaries) and we dominated. It happens. It's not a sleight against any of the other programs, it's just what can happen.

Seasons results are absolutely the best measuring stick - but, there is something to be said for stepping up on the big day.

There are many factors that can play into a 1 game result. Sometimes teams just don't match up well, styles of play is another. Even at this level there are teams that play more of a kick and run / counter attack than a possession based game.... Season standings were fairly close in most divisions. there seems to be a top 4 or 5 and a bottom 3-4 in each division...

    Agreed
The 6-0 U15 girls score was a bit of an anomoly. Mountain and Fraser Valley were the top 2 teams in the standinds I believe. They played a 1-0 or 2-0 game earlier in the season that I saw.

Exactly. It happens. Don't be surprised if the losing team beats them the first game next season.
