So I've heard that the district 5 league has canceled their final championship series game to give time to clubs to make up games due to the snow. For Coastal Cup B boys 5 district champions get in from District 5 and the champion from championship series get in. So whats going to happen this year when there is no final championship series game???

Group leader is the champion.
Hey thanks for the reply maybe I was a little unclear I am talking about the U13, U15, U17 age group and you said that the group champions goes up but here i found a document on the D5 website that it says top 2 go up. I am really confused because so many people have different answers!

The teams that win their District Cup qualify for the Coastal Cup. If those teams in the 3 age groups u mention are also 1st & 2nd place the Leage Championship Series then the 3rd placed team would get the Coastal Cup spot.
If the 3rd or 4th placed teams have also won their Dist Cup then the 5th & even 6th placed teams would get the Coastal Cup spots.

Thank you for the reply but, I'm still a little confused. Maybe if I tell you my teams situation you can help me out better. So if Port Moody Barcelona U17 finishes 2nd place and SDU finishes 1st and NCU finishes 3rd in championship round robin will Port Moody still qualify for coastal? Keep in mind that SDU lost their district final and NCU beat Port Moody in the TCYSA District final.

SDU & the 2nd placed team[after all standings are updated] CMF Villa or your team PMO Barcelona would qualify for the Coastal Cup - Good Luck .CFC.JPG

To clarify for Jacob Kinz. The following are the qualifiers for district 5 Coastal "B" Cup representations (unless there were rule changes this year).

1. District Cup winners (1 from Fraser Valley, Surrey Metro, Tri-City, Alouette, Delta).
2. 1st place from League Championship Group "A" (if 1st won their district then 2nd qualifies, if 2nd won theirs also then 3rd qualifies)\
3. Wildcard (If memory serves some years have 1 wildcard, some have 2 - example, 1 year a team that smashed the league but lost it's district and failed to win the league championship as well was given the wildcard - fairly IMO, and they then won coastal cup and provincials).

Thx for the response, so NCU beat us so they take the district cup spot, but 1st place sdu will have 12 points and we will have 11 points, but because sdu lost their district cup finals, does that mean they move up and 2nd place (us) doesn't and if so would that mean are team still be able to qualify cause it says top 2 teams win, or can we only qualify now by getting the wildcard spot

It sounds like, yes, SDU will qualify for Coastal Cup as you both lost in your respective district cup, but they are ahead of you in League Cup (the Championship Series). That would be the wildcard spot, so unless there are two wildcard spots it appears you'd miss out on Coastal Cup.

Lucky for those WC spots... Looks like the two U17 finalists came from that route.

Probably the best thing the league did was introduce those WC spots. One off's happen & sometime the best team in the district doesn't always get threw.

I suppose it depends on your outlook - will those two teams be the best representatives/teams?
