How did everyone fare this weekend?

For my u16 team we traveled that dreaded highway out to Chilliwack. LOL We played them for the 3rd time this year since labor day. We beat them 2x, but this weekend they beat us down 4-0. My boys looked liked they were totally confused. I'm not sure what to do with this win one lose one thing we have going right now. Well, I guess we have an uphill battle to keep that going as we play LUSA this coming weekend.

For my older sons u18 we played the CCB Cobras. This team was Div 2 last year. They are now in house? They are winning games 8-2 on a regular basis. They showed up, as their coach said, with some new players. They did not have a single ID card. We played the game under protest. We lost 8-2.

easoccer , Cobras played Div 2 last season and have added 3 -4 players who played Gold last season ! They are a Div 2 team 100%.
[hope i don,t upset anyone ;) by saying the truth based on facts , that this team should be playing Div 2 ]

Who can say? they have zero proof that even 1 players is on the team. lol.

Anyway, yes it was very clear the players were not of the same calibre. And they have the swagger to match. They were quite unsportsmanlike.

Made the trip to Abbotsford - nice facility at Mouat...haven't been there in 3-4 years.
Went with 3 regular defenders missing, one sub, and a Div 4 call up. Ended up with a nice win. The Abby goalie was terrific - definitely player of the match for either team.

You're just mad you got beat accept the loss and move forward

Player ID's have all been made for district 4. Not sure I'd feel comfortable if the othe team showed up without them 7 weeks into the season as well. Referees are generally instructed not to allow the game to proceed. I think this is a world wide Fifa rule if I'm not mistsken. I'm here to be enlightened if I'm missing something.

ID's are a requirment as of Oct 1st. The fact that the whole team was missing cards was odd. And it wasnt an oops I forgot to bring them kind of thing. They just did not have them.

The ref did not know what to do and neither did we so we called the district rep for advice.

It was recommended since the ref and linesman as well as players were there that the game be played, but under protest. This was decided prior to kick off. Win or Loss had nothing to do with it.

If teams show up without ID cards, their club is supposed to be fined. Cards are mandatory after Oct 1. You were right to play the game under protest.

Since you are young I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

There are 2 factors at play.

1. There are a rules and regulations that must be followed. We followed them, why shouldnt your team? And if we dont protest, as was recommended by the district, whats to stop your team or club from doing it again?

2. Your team is good. I even stated that its obvious it should be in a higher level. If we played 10 times you'd probably win each time. Whats the point?

Anyway, good job on the 2 goals.

I think both of you are missing the main point. It is about developing each kid not about wining and bragging or throwing cheep shots after the loss.
This is why our kids stand no chance in Div one University in US, and it is mostly due to poor development here. All work on development. What do you win. In my eyes nothing.Bringing ringers and winning games speaks very little about sports-men-ship.
