News and weather forecasts indicate that there are going to be some big storms this weekend, and there's been many fallen trees and accidents today. Many clubs have already cancelled all home games on turf and grass fields.

Wonder how many games will be played this weekend .

Dist 5 Rule: If 75% or more scheduled League games are not played, that weekend will be removed from the schedule and no points will be awarded for any games played.

a logical rule - District 5 is definitely doing some good things.

No games played in boys U18 Div 1 so this weekends schedule will be removed .

There were no games played in U18 Div 1 = 100% of games not played , but our game vs SU is protested ???
100% of games were not played so the schedule should be removed for Oct 15/16

Protests have to be submitted by a certain date. Probably filed it before the schedule was erased. Don't think they'll get a refund of their protest fee though ;)

Guessing they felt the game should have been played.

I think the rule is for the whole of District 5. Not an individual division. A lot of games were played.

Well ya possibly - but also if the protesting team had a field available and offered it, then the game had to be played. But since both teams were in Surrey ...

My son plays in u18 and in div 4 Sus has cancelled games ahead of time due to low numbers. I guess its up to the opposing coach if they agree or not. But in this case maybe one team felt unsafe? Who knows.

I think it's division by division, whether or not they don't count any games played. I can't see them discounting one group who played all their games, because some other division did not....

That makes sense I guess if there are 8 games to make up in a division, but in this case there are 3 so make up games shouldn't be a problem.

doesn't that equal a forfeit? Cancelling "due to low numbers" surely isn't reasonable. Who is able to confirm it's legit?? if the opposing coach agrees of course there's no issue with that.

I said the same thing but his coach is easy going. And the club agreed. I guess they will rebook later.

Same has happened with one of our U18 teams. Most of the time both sides are pretty agreeable about getting the game rescheduled.
