What are some of differences and advantages of the two.

In your opinion - Where should one play ?

Isnt it a geographical difference? Play where you live or where you can join a team that's suitable to your level of play.

VMSL is higher level than the FVSL , ask any of the top players and they will confirm that .

I saw somewhere recently the West Van mens team is moving from the VMSL to Fraser Valley after winning 2 consecutive championships. I'm wondering why if Vancouver is stronger?

They both sport the same divisions and both are represented in Provincials with other leagues showing as well. You may have some divisions where one is stronger and other where others are. The median is probably quite close.

WV put their U21 team this year into the FVSL Premier Division.

They have now given notice that they are moving that squad back to the VMSL - not too sure what division though, definitely not the VMSL Premier.

Surrey United have recently left the VMSL and will have all their teams in the FVSL beginning this upcoming fall. Reasons have more to do with SU trying to 'restructure' and 'integrate' the adult program with the youth side of things - nothing to do with perceived strengths of one league over the other.

This. FVSL and VMSL are competitive beer leagues. This isn't meant to be offensive, because I know the teams compete. But those guys are not going on to fill pro or national teams with the very rare exception. Play for the team nearest to you and your ability.

But, VMSL is clearly superior based on the provincial cup competitions over the years. Not sure why.....population is greater which means more good players?

Probably the WV team realized how frustrating it was to be doing all the driving, and the opponents probably complained about driving out there!! Can you imagine driving WV to Chilliwack on a Friday night after a week of work?

SU moving to FVSL is interesting - and very positive for FVSL IMO. Not sure how switching to FVSL for integration of their youth teams makes sense - maybe you can clarify the difference? Surrey Utd VMSL may find some of it's top talent going to play Surrey FC or Langley to stay in VMSL...?

Sponsored kits in the FVSL has been known for awhile - Umbro is the supplier... all Premier teams get custom kits that must be worn in league games.

VMSL had their AGM on Wednesday.

So only Surrey United shifted to FVSL. Is that true?

For Surrey Clubs they on border for VMSL and FVSL.

It would be a make FVSL better and competitive if atleast 3 teams moved over to FVSL from VMSL or if FVSL opens dorrs for competitive teams to enter teams.

Right now I see SU cake walking in FVSL for lack of better word.

"If FVSL opens dorrs for competitive teams to enter teams"....? Well, they let Surrey United join, so doesn't that tell you the door is open?

The question is this - how many players leave SU to play for other VMSL teams now?
