So with all the talk of the dominance of Newton teams they combined for 3 of 10 A cups and 3 of 12 B cups, for a total of 6. 5 of which were SFC which is more than any other club.

These are single game championships so anything can happen.

Its nice to see a spread though.

Yes and still SFC won 23% of the cup finals , that is a pretty decent showing for them, would have thought CCB and PUFC would have shown a bit better..,..

I initially read your post as being negative. Yes, I agree that SFC did very well.

I think I wanted to be negative which is why I started with So... I then realized the showing of SFC was actually very good. The consistency of how well SFC shows in the Coastal Cup is truly remarkable. Also remarkable is the consistency of how poorly clubs with BCSPL franchises place, sort of suggests where the resources are being consumed....

I don't think you can read into that. You could just as easily infer that Clubs without BCSPL teams have players that should be playing at a higher level but for what ever reason (held back, chose not to, not identified etc.) are playing a level below their ability.

I'm more inclined to agree with CanadianSpur. Although it is just a guess and hard to determine without all the facts.

Congratulations to all the finalist and winners . Some of these teams were with CCB last season and most likely will be leaving SFC to be with BC Tigers. The very girls U13 team parents are already concerned as SFC want to keep that team and the BC Tigers want it as well ! BC Tigers have been holding evaluations and especially promising Metro spots to teams , players etc.

Are some of the coastal cup teams from summer clubs playing in winter clubs?
The U17 B Cup teams were definitely summer club teams as I have seen them few years in a row with their summer club tournaments and gear.

I would say in B cup there are definitely teams from summer clubs that have registered as a team with a winter club/..
for example U14 Boys B Cup Coastal Royal 1 - 0 Surrey FC Van Utd - I am only guessing here but the name suggested they are from the Van united summer club... no doubt there are other less obvious ones. IT goes the other way as well...
