Pardon the language but a huge, seriously, WTF?!?!?!
Zambrano out after a year.
Who will take over womens then?
"One of Herdman’s assistants, Kenneth Heiner-Møller, will take over as head of Canada’s women’s program."
Tall about catching lightening in a bottle. Herdmans success has mirrored Sinclair's career. She is nearing the end of her career.
Sell high, buy low.
Would we even know who herdman is if it wasn't for the success of the female squad driven by one of the best female players ever in the world.
This move should give him job security now until world cup north America and if there is any success above the minimal expectations the men's program has than this will equate into longer term job security for herdman.
A smart move projecting forward by herdman and a gutless non risky move once again by csa
One of the things I've heard is that the Men's program has a lack of funding. Funding is driven by success, and since the women's program has had success, they receive far more money than the men. During the last international break before Christmas, the men's side didn't even have the funds to gather the team and play a couple of friendlies, that's how dire it is. I think this hire is purely for the visual effect and with the hope that Herdman's name will bring more financial support from the government for the men's side to help jump start the program again. I find it ironic that success drives financial support, how are you supposed to get better if your not being funded well enough to be able to achieve any success? Well see.....
