Considering all that went down late last summer regarding CCB, et al, I was wondering if anyone had any inside information on what they are planning to do with Spring/Summer Soccer?

They had vowed to start a spring league. There was a lot of concern over their grouping of BC Soccer approved fall soccer and non sanctioned spring/summer soccer registration and the distribution of money.

I am really interested in knowing if they came up with a plan and in fact have a new league, have joined an existing league, or are just sticking with the status quo.

My interest more or less lies on the side of a BC Soccer sanctioned league. I think that one of the biggest clubs starting one or supporting another could be a really good thing in surrey. Not that I mind the Indo league, but to give the players a quality alternative.

    Discuss.

I think there needs to be a 2nd tier alternative to BCSPL, for a few reasons.

A league based out of Surrey opens up the entire Fraser Valley to entering teams but not sure if games could be all over the FV. But also, a lot of clubs and academies run spring/summer programs - if there is a league running out of Surrey then those clubs that are just a bit too far away can now arrange jamborees and exhibition games with the teams participating in a Surrey-based spring-summer league (meaning clubs that want to offer spring programs now have more options to provide this service - so everyone wins). Also, if CCB creates one, you might see other districts create one. Not as an alternative to BCSPL, but as an option for kids not good enough or not interested in BCSPL.

USSL is a Spring/Summer leage for players from U5 - U12 only . The Leage has been running very successfully for nearly 7 yrs with all the local Surrey winter clubs participating in it . The problems in Newton where the SMSA /SDGSA wrongly banned players from one club had very little to do with USSL .
The problems occured cus BC TIGERS the biggest summer club split in half . They had grown so big with over 150 teams ,while many of of the other summer clubs were struggling for numbers. Some BC Tigers Execs, coach,s , players , teams stayed with CCB for the winter and many went to SFC /Surrey Youth . BC TIGERS senior organizer & SMSA chair and a couple of others also moved to SFC . Next thing u know they have banned CCB from all soccer activities.
Guess which club @ NAP gained so many extra winter registrations leading upto the start of the winter season ???

USSL should start as normal in April and discussions are currently ongoing . Fields are available for the USSL from April 1 .

Lfc all of that has been discussed in depth on many other threads. My question is to what ccb is doing now. Send registered players to ussl/ussa as in previous years or participating in a bc soccer sanctioned league as previously pledged.

That is all. Politics arent needed here.

    Not other than BCSPL.

I am not sure a single club can get a league going. I think you would need a structure, board of directors etc etc - whatever BCSA requires for a league to be sanctioned. I can't see it being approved for this coming spring/summer unless the process started quite a while ago.

Looks like CCB has increased their fall fees considerably for the upcoming season.
    U5 fees are up 75%
    U6 - U9 fees are up 27%
    U10 - U18 fees are up 41%

Appears to be the highest fees in Metro Vancouver.

They are obviously trying to tie players into another full year with the club as the increase for a full year is only $50.

easoccer , i really respect your views/posts and didn,t mean to be political . i mainly responded to the following ln your post re CCB "There was a lot of concern over their grouping of BC Soccer approved fall soccer and non sanctioned spring/summer soccer registration and the distribution of money."
All of us who are involved during the summer know for a fact that all that mess during Aug/Sep was caused because of a split between people who ran BC TIGERS & CCB together for a couple of yrs- all the senior members were in full agreement in the all year round running of the 2 clubs.
It was so wrong to hit back at innocent kids just because of that split .

Majority of kids in the Newton area play all year round so there is actually no increase in fees. The CCB fees are actually lower than most clubs to play all year and the club must have cleared it with BC Soccer to set up their full year fees registration.

What league will players registered with CCB's spring summer program play in? When registering players for fall parents know their kids will be playing MSL, 5 District, BC Coastal Girls, etc.

SoccerMom , you should visit the CCB Office @ NAP open 7 days a week for info re Spring/Summer and also check the fees compared to other clubs for all year round play.

Wow!! LFC I thought this was a forum to ask questions and discuss issues. I don't need to visit CCB Office to compare fees when they were posted on this forum. I made an observation which has obviously hit a nerve.

As for CCB Spring Soccer my question is very valid from the chaos of last spring where the entire CCB Board had to resign over allegations.

Soccer Mom, your question is indeed valid and one that needs answering, Despite the politics one of the issues with CCB has been the full year registration , what club to you play for come spring, what league etc.. A few years back I registered for a full year and find myself playing for an non sanctioned Indo club come spring, nowhere on the registration form does it say that, my assumption was playing year round for CCB. So after this was one of the issues brought up they have come up with the same year long registration and provide no info as to what club, league etc the spring is with. Sorry but its like the haven't learned a thing...How hard is it to provide some info, the lack of info just smells . look at the the form nowhere does it says anything.....

The form says "payable to Central City Football Club" etc etc - I would assume then that come spring my kid is playing for a team that is run by and wears the Central City flag.....if that's not the case this should be stated on the form.

that is the point , in previous years it was the same thing, payable to CCB but that isn't the uniform or club come summer, first BC Tigers, then Canadian Eagles..
