What are the results? There arent any listed for u15. Every other year they were posted as the final was completed.

    Thanks.

Who knows why so many are missing... I don't know how the community has put up with these types of issues for so long, it's not rocket science to identify the needed workflow and communicate when things go awry.

In my short period of time being involved at some level, I could write a book on the crap that goes on behind the scenes

I know in Group C CMF defeated South Delta in PK's, and in Group L WCA never showed up for their match v. CCB.
I guess everyone figures the season is over, and there's no need to report scores!
We hosted U16 finals, plus our Jamboree...I was so done after 10 hours...:)

I like to know how the teams in my age group do. From top to bottom. I even watch for the results of aquaintences etc. Could you imagine if the pros didnt report cup final? We're not on that level for sure but I think its kind of important.

I agree, I like to see who has done well. I just think some people think it's done for them.

Isn't it a simple case of the coordinators for the event submitting the score?

During the final of the U17 boys , the official linesman left at the end of normal time [ game was tied 2-2] .
He was scheduled to ref another final game . All the extra time was played with only 1 linesman. The team that lost 3-2 had 2-3 wrong offside calls & were protesting strongly at the end

the finals don't go straight to shootout? hmm, group stage games do. seems odd they would schedule games so close to each other if there is potential for extra time.

District separation for clubs is a mess.
Just looked at standings today and see that many teams that had very low point totals (Div 1) somehow made their way into the Coastal Cup.
While I see a need to have some sort of inclusiveness, having cellar dwelling teams get ushered into Coastal cup because of their district is ridiculous.
Looking at that U17 Boys Div 1 as suggested for example shows that during the regular season a CFC team was 4th from the bottom yet they make it to the Coastals......
I also see that there is certain bias towards the Vancouver island teams or clubs.
How do you fix the issue and what to do with Surrey as a whole as they clearly have the better teams in that district??

My daughter plays in the MWSL. I think they have a great method for Cup play and that is to have teams play the other similar level groups.

So you have div 1 in district 5, District 4, etc. At some point through the season these teams have cup games with a team in the other districts. By elimination you could assess better who should be in the Coastal Cup.

District play downs really take some of the best qualified teams out.

Furthermore, I think that each team in the lower mainland should be able to play any other team (certainly beginning with u13). The girls side has been doing this for a long time, why not the boys as well? In u15 my daugher had a game in Tsawwassen 1 week, Chilliwack the next, West Van the week after that, and this was Div 5.

Metro level could have a home and away with a van island team if needed.

This way the cream would rise to the top.

In the BCCGSL girls league, clubs hold tryouts to form Div 1 or 2 teams, Div 3 teams are players who just register (no tryouts typically) for placement on a Div 3 team. Div 1 & 2 teams can play anywhere with possible cross group play (i.e. 1A v 1B etc). but Div 3 is grouped by geography i.e. 3N, 3E, 3S, 3W and play within their area (exceptions may occur, i.e. Islands,Whistler,Squamish). After Xmas, Divisional teams (including Div 3) are regrouped based on regular season standings for League Championship round play, that is when Div 3 teams might play teams outside of their geographic area (new Div 3 groups lose area designations to become Group 1, 2, 3...) with the top 2 in each group playing a final for group championship.

My daughter plays for MWSL, she is 19 now, this was a few years ago. Then CUP play was mixed up and took place throughout the season. She played for CCB then.

Yes, I realized after my initial reply that it was a different (older girls/women's) league, and revised my post :)

In my humble opinion Vancouver Island has no business in the Coastal Cup. They qualify for provincials by way of winning the Island cup, so why should they and Mainland teams take on the expense of playing when the CC game means very little in the grand scheme.

I acknowledge what you are saying about lower table teams qualifying. Last year my team finished 2nd bottom in the league but won district cup so we qualified. But we beat the D4 league runners up in the first round by a very big score, and only narrowly lost the next round in an away game to the eventual runners-up. We also won the league cup 6-0-0. This year, I wasn't the coach, but that same team won Division 1 league season. So you can't judge teams based on their league position.

I think being inclusive is the best solution. But I suggest it's only small districts like Richmond and Alouette that should be blended into other larger districts.

TKBC , good point about the Vancouver Island teams - they are very low level and in the Coastal Cup they have a direct route to the semi finals which is just total bs

My remark had nothing to do with their level of play.
