any idea when the 4D schedules are coming out? Thanks
when those all the schedulecome out
Anyone know why the scores and standings aren't updated from last weekends games?
I would like to know the same thing. Two games now, and no scores/standings.
Smith schedules come out after first five weeks in U13 and up U18. First five weeks are to see if the teams can hold their own at that level.
Scores are kept by club sides and they will count when you see the posting. In youth soccer club president takes care of scores till the page starts. I was watching few games. Man-o-man scores were so lop sided that one needs a post to lean on.
Bigger clubs are doing way better due to bigger number of better skill kids. Smaller clubs will pick up in few weeks with hard work.
Kids in White Caps development do not look any better then the kids in MSL. For most all play slow pace over passing soccer.
Soccer is slowly sliding due to many Leagues. Costs in youth soccer are gone throw the roof. Only kids with money end-up in HPL.
Need I say more. I hope Jason Devos can change the development. It needs total over hall.
Cheers have fun teach few kids to do better, that is key factor of development. Spend money on US Tournaments and you will develop ten fifteen kids in three years.
Whitecaps residency kids are far superior to MSL kids. However, if you look at the current Whitecaps u18 roster you will note that of the BC-based players in that program quite a few are from MSL (and one from Division 1). Not all the best kids are in BCSPL - don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You are right, something has to change and hopefully Devos can do that!
Thanks TKBC for your input. See in my opinion they are no better in some cases worse. Caps kids practice five days a week only their fitness is bit better. Most coaches at that level turn kids in to robo soccer players.
Ten yard box work, I watch them practice, we are way behind in development.
Pace lacks, one two lacks, team moving lacks, high pressure lacks, attacking with five is non existing defending with ten in total not there. We all wish our kids would do better yet we can see soccer falling in over all skill.
It's mostly about money making not so much about player development. Devos has a tough job in front of him. In my opinion club soccer did better job of development than today's HPL pay and you play.
Take your team to few US tournaments and put the boys or girls in the same level of soccer as they play here and you will see where I am coming from. Year after year we fail at National level in men's side, in my opinion it's a net result of our development, but in stead coaches get the boot at that level. If you are an MSL player you will not be called to Provincial try outs, if you are not HPL player you will never have a chance to play at National level. Money controls who goes where take it how you wish. If you watch British soccer div three teams beat top level teams in cup play. We must change the system here............ Devos is a good move by Vick and his people. Now we will see what he does.
I thought 5 District was slow with updates , but Dist 4 is worse. Its even difficult to find a link to their Divisions & Schedules. I know many of the coach,s /teams as we play them during tournaments etc.
This is the outdated 4 District page that opens up in Google 4 District Soccer League
Give them time they will get it going. It's always like this in first few weeks. Most people in youth soccer are overloaded with work due to lack of free help. Best person to ask would be Leona Thompson BBY District rep. I think she could post it up.
Five district pays their guys to do that type of work. I am not sure about four District. Person to contact in Vancouver would be Miss Larson.
She is very much on top of things in Vancouver, lots of Board members take on job on the board but their own work takes way more time than they have to give to youth soccer.
Some years boys soccer just does not have enough help. I hope this is not the case this year. Summer Camps were full of kids.
Guys go to 4 district soccer league for schedules and contact people. I found it, first six or seven weeks are posted.
No scores or standings on that page.

It can,t be 6-7 weeks as leage only started 3 weeks ago
Yes.. there are 6 weeks of schedule posted. Sept 10 onward. No results though.
They should just pay someone x amount per month or something to keep on it. Like an incentive to get the scores &'standings out in a timely manner.
I see the 5D standings are half & half. Lots of empty scores. I guess some teams don't bother sending the score in?
What's everyone's take on GD? It's been forever that GD doesn't play apart in the standings....
Goal differential plays a part if you look at the rule book. The software they use does not calculate any of that correctly. They leave it up to you to protest your position if it affects your standing in cup, finals, etc.
In my opinion guys, all that adjusting should be stopped. Coaches know what level their team is. Some try to go up a level and than score ends up 8 zip each weekend.
Then district sends them down. I just can not understand why they do all that. We need to go back to Div soccer. Top two move up bottom two drop to next level. MSL and HPL should run after year end of Div soccer. The way this is now is just does nor work kids keep on quitting and moving from team to team. Post a Schedule till Christmas and one after Christmas.
Soccer here is just for fun as you can see. Our kids have no chance to make it with this type of system.
All I can see money and hud but we lack Robin Hud. Soccer page is up to date LFC.
The trouble is that coaches don't know how strong their team will be and have even less of a clue how strong the other teams will be. The team I'm coaching this year started last season in Silver 1, got dropped down in the re-tiering and then were a mid-table team for the remainder of the season. Based on that we entered at Silver 2 again (which has to be done at the start of summer) before you even get a training session with your new team. We then offered a couple of months of optional training sessions and found the players to be very receptive to this and even in those two months have improved greatly, to the point that we have won our first three games, with two being total non contests against teams who have picked up points in their other games and are obvious candidates to be bumped up. If not for the week 4/5 re-tiering we would be stuck in a league where we would probably play 4-6 really competitive games for the entire season. The same would apply for any team within the 4 District model. We knew what we had in March when tryouts were done, but didn't have a clue what we would have at the beginning of September.
They do post a schedule until Christmas. Then it's cup after Christmas. At least in District 5 that's how it is.
Hockey has a lot going for it and a lot that isn't so good. One thing it has going very well for it is the team selection and tiering process in September.
TKBC 4 district does have games posted. Some guys don't know how to get to the page. Go to 4 District soccer league. When it come up click on four district than you will get this year games contacts and times. No scores are posted yet. They might hold on till they have the teams in the proper groupings.
We have equal program to hockey in fact better due to thee times as many kids play soccer. The problem is HPL and MSL. Clubs teach kids four five six years and than have to start all over again. HPL is high cost to play not the best players play there. In MSL they lose kids to HPL, MSL is building a new team each year. In both Leagues we have good coaches but we lack kids at higher level.
When you watch the games good gold teams are as good as MSL same goes for HPL for most kick and run.
We are miles away from high pace high control soccer. I hope with Jason in charge things change. We used to produce way more better players twenty years ago than now.
Mega clubs really do not do much for soccer. Way more kids fall through the cracks. Clubs like North shore have 10 teams in bronze level to win at all cost. What does that do in developing players in general? With out Divisional soccer nothing will change.
In England they have from div one to div seven Top two move up bottom two fall. Provincial teams during summer months.I just can not understand BC why they let clubs do what they do now.
All of you guys think well and give nothing but your time to develop kids. Unless kids make a pay cheque at the age of 19 it really means very little. We should have ten percent of top kids get a pay job it just does not happen here.
Soccer is a fun game we all wish we could set this country on a proper level but for what ever reason boards just don't want any changes. I wish we could all stop twice a year for two weeks and have a total Province in a soccer tournament to expose the best players. Include BC TV to expose top level.
