My own u11 schedule has changed as well (appropriate). They changed all the groups after Thanksgiving, and we played a game with that sched, they've now changed all the groups again. LOL. I was away from the game and my boys said they were really fast....lol any bets on if we played a u12 team...
although results are not recorded (they are tracked) for u11-12 in the BCCSL and the Fraser Valley league - do those leagues create cups for those ages - even if there is no trophy at the end?
they arranged the cup draw by geography? I am against massive trips for league play, but for the odd cup game - kids can drive a little bit more if that's the luck of the draw (same as Coastal Cup for example).
I have to laugh because I wasn't there!
I had a similar experience with a 12 year old ref for my team of 11 year olds. We chatted about installing the cones to note the retreat line. It took a while but we got there although each half had the retreat line marked off at different locations ;)...
I did this in a tournament - u-11 I think one year. Brought two teams but only had about 9 players per team with kids coming and going for family stuff over that Thanksgiving weekend, so with tournament approval before the tournament began we had players on both teams from a couple games. A...
(at u11) Couldn't care less, personally, as a coach. Who the other team has is up to them. I assume the kids are all the right age. If they want to "bring in ringers" or whatever the case may be to win a game that doesn't keep a score they can go right ahead.
Breaking-up due to geography at D1 level makes perfect sense depending on how many teams are in the division.
If the league rule book says points carry over then I agree, they should carry over. My own league rule book (not BCCSL) says u11 needs ID cards, but when you ask the coordinators etc...
Indeed. My point is the drive time should never be Chwk-Squamish, for example - which currently can and does happen. Restrict one-way drive time to.....I dunno, whatever the distance is Chilliwack to Burnaby. That's about 1 hour, and is no big deal once in a while - at the older ages.
At...
Remembering soccer is fun? So to increase the players ownership of their training, and hopefully fun, we've started "captains week" in which the captain for the following game (it changes every week - my team is quite young) leads the team through 15 minutes of training, of the captains choosing...
Listening to two parents behind me talking about their sons team (game on the pitch before mine)....."that's offside!" they mutter to each other, "they need to learn proper forward runs...", "where's he going? oh man now we don't have any subs", "they need to wake up." the lol's as I see the...
