    CCB Suspension Crisis

These boys have been treated so unfairly and still difficult to understand why these 15 yr olds were punished because of differences between adults of different clubs , the team should be allowed to play in their own age group -U16 for the District Cup and also allowed to make up all the games...

Why do we put our kids through this?

Has BC Soccer ever done any surveys /studies on moving the winter season to Spring

Why don't we have make up games?

Grass fields are closed off many times and its difficult to find turf time but teams should be allowed to make up all games they have missed , especially the teams that were recently moved into U17 Div 1 & Div 2 - both these teams can challenge for a top 4 finish if allowed to play their missed...

    Rain, all weather fields.

Its difficult to train properly in the winter due to the bad weather and crowded turf fields with 8 -10 teams sharing the fields @ NAP

Why do we put our kids through this?

The USSL for players from U5 to U12 has been well organized with generally very few problems. Its definitely been a big success and an enjoyable experience for most players and any problems that arose in Newton this year should not be connected to the USSL.

Good luck to the boys and great to see them finally playing after 8 weeks. Anyone know the score ?

    Re-tiering

Its great that these boys will finally start playing games after almost 8 weeks - players did nothing wrong to be sitting out for so long. This should have been sorted out in a timely manner. This U16 team were scheduled to play the 2nd placed U17 Div 2 team yesterday . They will find it alot...

Youth Soccer - Tryouts/Rosters/Minimum Playing Time etc

Good points TKBC , any experienced coach should be fully aware about behavioral issues/discipline etc and obviously take steps to take care of that. BC Soccer has set a 30 % playing time for the BCSPL [ prob only 10% of youth players in BC ] over the season . It would do no harm to set a...

easoccer the USSL and summer tournaments are definitely a huge benefit for those players that want to play soccer all year round. Surrey has so many turf fields and beautiful grass fields & the added bonus of great summer weather helps to make the summer program so popular .

Good for them if they are in an easy District same as Delta where the 2 Gold teams are very weak as well.

Langley Smith U17 lost their 1st game 5-0 . Surrey Dist is the toughest route to qualify by winning the Dist Cup as there are prob 7-8 strong Gold teams amongst the 5 Surrey Dist clubs. The Surrey Dist Cup is more competitive than the Coastal & Provincial Cup

Youth Soccer - Tryouts/Rosters/Minimum Playing Time etc

John Mckay - great post , so much sense and hope the thee likes of BC Soccer take note . LTPD is pointless as currently these organizations don,t enforce anything

Youth Soccer - Tryouts/Rosters/Minimum Playing Time etc

Guys lets keep it easy & simple and best immediate solution would be to add a minimum /fair playing time of 30 mins in the MSL, Dist 4 & 5 rules -same as the BCSPL .

Youth Soccer - Tryouts/Rosters/Minimum Playing Time etc

BCSPL is a minority of prob 5% of the total players playing in BC yet they are getting preferential treatment. There are more players playing in the U13 - U18 Metro , Gold , Silver , Bronze than any other group or leage . This is where u have some coach,s giving players as little as 5-10 mins...

Youth Soccer - Tryouts/Rosters/Minimum Playing Time etc

BC Soccer should set a rule whereby all players need to play 30 or 40 mins per game . If a coach cannot guarantee fair or equal playing time [except for discipline reasons or non attendance for training etc] then he should not be selecting that player

Upto Xmas the top 6 or 8 teams will go into the Leage Championships Series starting in Jan and the top 2 teams in that play in the final but both teams also qualify for the Coastal Cup so points are a big incentive leading upto Xmas. There are three ways to advance to the BC Coastal Cup: Win...

In 4 games Langley Smith scored 35 conceded 1 . I note they have been moved upto U17 Div 1 which takes this Div to 14 teams. They are showing 0 games played - hopefully they get a chance to make up their games as i think they are strong enough to finish in top 6 .
