Years ago Richmond had 4 boys clubs (North, Central, West, South Arm). Which team you played on was dependent on where you lived. When those 4 merged it became one club (Richmond Youth Soccer Association, now Richmond FC). Girls has always been just the one club as far as I know.

I believe BCSA's intent is to let clubs and districts figure things out on their own. They seem to wade in only when pressed. These are recent updates to their Discipline Policy, coming out of so much poor behavior and decision-making made in local clubs in 2015. The biggest change to me, is...
They've tiered the U13 and U18 groups. The top teams from before the break make up Div1 and the lower half teams make up Div 2, so they're all playing teams of their level. The standings start over from January 9.
In Richmond, artificial turf fields are shared with baseball, field hockey and lacrosse (although I'm not sure of the lacrosse season). Also, football. They're not just for soccer-although I agree, it would be better if our season were a little warmer and drier!
I honestly cannot see either league adding a team at this point in the season. It's just not going to happen, two months in. Maybe they should place individual boys on other teams that have space before the December deadline, in order to get them playing games.
There is a U16 team playing in Metro. Their club used to be CCB but are now listed as SFS Same team and coach as the previous 3 years that played under CCB. I gather this has to do with the coach's protest written about earlier in this thread.
I don't claim to understand all the politics...
It was stated above that he protested to the District. Clubs use coach appointments to support their own agendas all the time. In this case, the schedule was set up, contact info was already posted for same coach as the last 3 seasons. So obviously something changed along the way.
No, that wouldn't make any sense. They were scheduled to play last season's Coastal Cup and Provincials winner. No way they were outmatched. I haven't seen any standings posted yet, in 3 weeks.
So I notice that in our U16MSL division, not one CCB game has been played. They are listed as "canceled". My guess is that they are being given time to train before any games are played-but this is just a guess. Does anyone here know for sure what's going on with this?
Just posted on CCB website...just in time for weekend tournaments?!
SMSA lifts suspension Fri, Sep 04 2015
CCB has now been reinstated by the SMSA and will resume all soccer duties effective immediately.
I follow a number of the key players on Twitter. As of yesterday, they haven't heard back from SMSA. It seems as though they're proceeding as if it's business as usual. If they had been, they would put out a statement, as they did when the Girls side lifted it.
However, we all want the kids...
